Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis, 4,409' and Britain's highest mountain. Whilst I had done it on a number of occasions some years ago during my time climbing Ros my wife had never been to the top. Fortunately for us the weather was fair with light winds though it was chilly when we parked up alongside the Ben Nevis Inn at Achintee. We went for an early start to avoid the bank holiday rush, there were loads of people carrying union jack flags to the summit to celebrate some jubilee, I had forgot mine. Under good conditions you cant miss the path as it steadily rises first to the halfway lochan and then the steeper section up through the bends before arriving at the summit. We made a brew on my tiny coleman stove, took some pictures of the hoards before descending back to the pub for some well earned beer. Go do it.
