Western Berwyns, a set on Flickr.
This weekends walk was the 11m walk over the Western Berwyns
We were looking for something to get us going following our return from the Ecrins mountains in France.
Whilst we had done this walk before and barring one completed all the Nuttals it was easy to get to and relatively easy to navigate and complete. The weather was good with light winds and a temp of about 17 degrees. Whilst on the summit of Cefn Gwyntog we met a couple from Scarborough who were engaged ticking their own list of Nuttalls. I had said that they could have a copy of the picture but got there email address wrong so if any one knows the couple in the white shirts please  let me know.

The Royal Arms Beer Festival - Tockholes

The Royal Arms Beer Festival - Tockholes.

We were meant to go walking as we hadn't really done anything since returning from the Ecrin Mountains. The weather forecast for the weekend was poor with heavy rain and strong winds, so we prompted for a 10m yo mp around Darwen Tower. Upon arrival at the Royal Arms I noticed a large white tent, my initial reaction was that it must be a wedding but being the nosey sod that I am I had to have a peep. To my surprise the tent was a haven for real ale drinkers, pitty my wife as not able to drive the camper van I could easily have tucked into several varieties of glorious beer. Simon Entwistle was the guest speaker for the afternoon telling his stories of ghosts and crime from around  the Northwest, hence the walk did not happen oh well there is always next weekend.
