Well this was shot using my Canon 5d mk11 with a 24-105, a Canon ST E2, a Canon 430ex and Canon 580ex flashguns. I had a couple of black cards to help bounce the light about and added a bit of contrast, blacks and whites in lightroom 4.
Any how cheers for later.

Attended the Wigan Business Expo last Friday, I imagined it was going to be a bit of a dull affair really, I have to say I was very much wrong and perhaps it would have been better to have gone earlier in the day. After looking at various companies efforts to promote their business it was obvious to me we are no longer manufacturing anything. Apart from Bulldog tools whom I had a tour of their factory whilst working for Greenham tools some 25 years ago every one wants to do business support in some guise or other. Anyway next year am going to make more effort and well done to the organisers.

The Lorton and Borrowdale Fells
This was one of our first weekend walks of 2012, the weather forecast was set fair and we had booked ourselves into a two person room at Borrowdale Youth Hostel.
The Saturday walk was Barf, Broom Fell, Greystones and Lord Seat from the Whinlatter Pass visitor centre near to Braithwaite it was about 11m with just less than 3000’ of ascent and took about 6 hours.
The downside to the visitor centre is the exorbitant parking charges now finding it way in to the national parks with costs similar to that of a major urban city. In recent past you were able to go down the road for a few hundred feet and park for free, they have now blocked that off, and there spots but you will need to find them.
In hindsight I would do this walk in reverse as you get an easy descent back to the starting point, we missed Whinlatter out due to a late start.
We stayed the night at Borrowdale youth hostel, my wife likes the hostel idea as you get to meet likeminded people and generally the food is plentiful and wholesome however the downside in my opinion is usually the size of the room, the compactness of the bed, the shared showers and the cost. On average I’d say it costs around £100 a night to stay, for £130 you can get a bed and breakfast with far better facilities.
Our Sunday walk was over Great Crag and Brund Fell a lovely six miler with superb views, the morning was cold with a slight breeze. The paths were frozen with a veneer of ice making walking treacherous.

This is becoming one of my favorite types of photography because at the end you get to eat what you have just shot. In this case it was one of my wifes fruit breads and scones. It's also great hill food on some of our mountain day's out, though being a type 2 diabetic I try to ensure careful consumption.
This was a simple set up using natrual light on our own dinning room table, I closed the blinds a little just to soften things up a bit.
